Be Kind Sessions: The Heart of the United Hockey Camps 2026

21. April 2026
From Nora Steiner

We are proud to once again have our “Be Kind” specialists as part of the United Hockey Camps 2026 team this year. The Be Kind Sessions are a core element of the UNITED Camps: they create space for genuine connection, foster team spirit, trust, and respect, and invite participants to reflect on who they want to be as individuals and as teammates. Through interactive exercises, reflection, and dialogue, they strengthen understanding of different cultures and perspectives and make an important contribution to developing a Global Identity—the ability to know oneself while remaining open and connected to others.

“I like people, and I’m always happy to be involved when it’s about connecting people,” psychologist Rahel Wüthrich wrote to me when I asked about her original motivation for joining the United Camp. Her passion lies in bringing people together and creating spaces where meaningful moments can arise—moments that have the power to shift perspectives.

Stefanie Huber, an HR specialist, has been working alongside Rahel as a project partner for around 20 years—a true “partner in crime.” Together, they have implemented numerous initiatives, including supporting Afghan female football players in Albania. They share a deep friendship and a common drive to make a difference through sport and humanity.

Mahtab Meierhofer completes the trio with her many years of experience as a social worker in the asylum and refugee sector. For her, “Global Identity” is not just a professional focus but a matter close to her heart. She is actively committed to strengthening awareness of global connectedness—both in everyday life and in sport.
Rahel, Stefanie, and Mahtab are united by a shared mindset: a deep belief that genuine human connection can change the world. At a time often marked by division, they consciously focus on encounter, exchange, and shared experiences.

The UNITED Camp is more than just a joint project—it embodies the conviction that we are stronger when we experience ourselves as connected, both on and off the field.
For us at Coubertin meets Dunant, it is a special pleasure to have found three such dedicated and experienced specialists in this area. With the Be Kind Sessions at Coubertin meets Dunant, they help young athletes grow together across cultural and political boundaries. They build a valuable bridge to the SBW Future Skill “Global Identity,” closely aligning our work with the values of our close partner, SBW Haus des Lernens.
