Intercultural exchange through sport: Summer Camp 2024
The non-profit Coubertin meets Dunant Foundation combines Olympic values with Switzerland's humanitarian tradition. It is committed to intercultural dialogue and is convinced that sport can connect and inspire people to contribute to positive change in society. Our main focus is on bringing together young, ambitious athletes from nations that hardly communicate with each other in the diplomatic arena, and the Foundation is concentrating on women's football and handball for this year's summer camp. The participating countries are Afghanistan, Iran, China and South Korea.
Peace Beyond Limits
Is the motto of the first United Summer Camp. The focus is on intensive sports training, the development of future skills and opportunities for cultural exchange. From 24 June to 28 June, we will be at the Winterthur and Lake Constance talent campuses and visit the OYM in Cham and the ON Lab in Zurich. In the second week, we will train at the National Youth Sports Centre in Tenero and offer a platform to overcome cultural differences and find a unifying language through sport. There will be various public events.
