From June 10 to 15, 2025, the United Summer Camp will bring together young female footballers from across the globe. Among them are players from the Girlpower organization who fled Afghanistan, as well as rising talents from VfL Wolfsburg Women, GC Women’s Football, and FC Winterthur Women.
As part of the UNITED Youth Athlete Program, the camp serves as a flagship initiative to promote integration, diversity, and empowerment in women’s football. It fosters international friendships, broadens perspectives, and builds a cross-border network that extends far beyond sport.
Women’s football becomes a cultural bridge—strengthening and inspiring young players both on and off the pitch.
Empowerment and Integration Through Women’s Football
At the second United Summer Camp, young female footballers from Afghanistan, Germany, and Switzerland come together to train, share experiences, and witness the unifying power of sport. Among the teams participating are the youth squads of VfL Wolfsburg Women, GC Women’s Football, FC Winterthur Women, and the Girl Power United team—made up of Afghan players who have fled their country.
The participants can look forward to an intensive week filled with daily football training sessions, intercultural exchange, and shared experiences. In BE KIND workshops, they’ll strengthen their self-confidence, mutual respect, and resilience.
Encounters with inspiring role models and a public panel discussion at Wankdorf Stadium will offer new perspectives and highlight the broader impact of sport.
Team spirit is further encouraged through shared activities such as a boat tour, sightseeing in Bern, and a visit to the FIFA Museum. The camp will culminate in a public charity tournament on June 14—a powerful statement for diversity and solidarity.
Follow our journey live and become part of a movement that breaks down barriers and makes hope visible.
