Coubertin meets Dunant about Rashed Noori:
-
I started Taekwondo in Afghanistan and trained there for three years. After fleeing to Switzerland, I was unable to train regularly for two years. Despite this, I never gave up and continued working towards my goal.
In Switzerland, I found new opportunities to develop as an athlete. At a scouting event in Wattwil, I was able to demonstrate what I had learned and, through my performance, qualify for further competitions. I train primarily at the Crescendo Oberwil Taekwondo School in Basel under the guidance of Lukas Allemann.
I am grateful for the support I receive. Sport gives me motivation, structure and the opportunity to continue pursuing my dreams. -
I can analyse movements and techniques in Taekwondo very quickly – often, a brief observation is all I need. This helps me understand new techniques quickly and continuously improve my training. I love learning new things, constantly developing my skills and challenging myself against other athletes. At the same time, I want to achieve more than just sporting success. I also want to make a difference as a person and have a positive impact on others – sometimes through small things in everyday life.
-
My biggest dream is to compete at the Olympic Games and win a medal representing Switzerland or the IOC Refugee Team.
In the short term, I want to gain further experience and improve my technique through national and international competitions and training camps.
In the medium term, I aim to compete in international G1 tournaments, earn world ranking points and establish myself in the senior category.
In the long term, my goal is to qualify for the European and World Championships as well as the Olympic Games and compete at the highest level.
